P1 Sync
P1 Sync links two P-1 units over MIDI. A Leader sends song selection, setlist selection, play, pause, stop and scrub position to a Follower, which mirrors the Leader.
Both units should run firmware v3.27 or later.
Connect the units
Section titled “Connect the units”- Connect the MIDI output of the Leader to the MIDI input of the Follower.
- On the sending P-1, open Settings → MIDI Settings → P1 Sync and select Leader.
- On the receiving P-1, select Follower in the same menu.
- Load matching sessions on both units before the performance.
| Mode | Behaviour |
|---|---|
| Off | P1 Sync is disabled. |
| Leader | Sends selection, transport and scrub information. |
| Follower | Receives and follows P1 Sync information without retransmitting it. |
MIDI channels and clock
Section titled “MIDI channels and clock”P1 Sync uses MIDI channel 16 internally. When P1 Sync is set to Follower, channel 16 is reserved and cannot also be used for normal MIDI remote control. The user-selectable remote-control channel defaults to channel 15.
Start, Stop and Continue transport messages are sent externally only when MIDI Clock output is enabled. Configure clock behavior under Settings → MIDI Settings.
Scrubbing
Section titled “Scrubbing”When the Leader scrubs an audio and MIDI song, the Follower moves to the matching position.
Preparing matching sessions
Section titled “Preparing matching sessions”For predictable switching, use the same setlist and song order on both units. P1 Sync sends selections and transport state; it does not transfer audio, MIDI files or session data between SD cards.
