Saving and Backing Up Sessions

An .idoru file stores your setlists, song settings and links to your WAV and MIDI files. It does not contain copies of those files. Keep the linked files in their original locations, or create a separate backup containing them.

Action	What it does
Save / Save As	Saves an .idoru session file. The session continues to use WAV and MIDI files from their existing locations.
Send session to P-1	Copies everything required by the P-1 to an SD card or another selected folder. The linked source files must be available during export.
Import from P-1	Creates a session from previously exported files. Its WAV and MIDI links point to the SD card or folder from which it was imported.

Keeping a master session

1. Keep your master WAV and MIDI files in stable folders on your computer.
2. Build your session and save it as an .idoru file.
3. When the session is ready, use Send session to P-1 and select the SD card. You can connect the card through the P-1 or insert it directly into your computer.

Creating a self-contained backup

1. Build your master session, then choose Send session to P-1.
2. Select a new empty folder on your computer instead of an SD card. The exported folder is now a backup containing the files required by the P-1.
3. Click Import from P-1 and choose the exported lists folder inside the backup.
4. Save the imported session as a new .idoru file on your computer. This session now links to the WAV and MIDI files in the backup folder.

Imported sessions use the selected files

If you import directly from an SD card, the resulting session links to files on that card; the WAV and MIDI files are not copied to your computer. You can edit the session while the card is disconnected, but reconnect it before exporting. Copy the exported SD-card contents to your computer if you want a durable backup.
